GEAR UP programs in your neighborhood.
The Washington State GEAR UP Program has two direct service components: the GEAR UP Scholars Project and the GEAR UP for Student Success program. The Higher Education Coordinating Board administers the programs and oversees the project, coordinates professional development opportunities for GEAR UP site directors and school personnel and provides resources such as handbooks and websites. Individually school districts are contracted to provide the direct services to students.
GEAR UP Scholars Project
The GEAR UP Scholars Project is federally-funded. We contract with twelve school districts statewide to provide direct services to 1,000 low-income students. GEAR UP serves the following districts:

- Inchelium School District
- Monroe School District
- Okanogan School District
- Quincy School District
- Vancouver School District
- Wapato School District
- Wenatchee School District

GEAR UP for Student Success
The GEAR UP for Student Success program is state-funded. We contract with 25 schools districts to provide services to 9th grade students statewide. GEAR UP has programs in the following districts:
