Develop an Action Plan

Making a plan and sticking with it is one of the most important steps in college and career planning.

If it’s starting to seem like the whole college thing is a lot of work, it is. Sometimes people make it look easy. But not everyone starts the college and career planning process with the same knowledge or skills. That’s why you need to develop a plan to track your progress and get ready for college. And don’t forget, it’s always good idea to visit with your school counselor, teacher, parents and GEAR UP staff if you have questions or need specific advice.

Do the following and you'll be on your way to college.

  • Make sure you graduate
  • Take the right classes
  • Earn college credits
  • Get job skills
  • Test your progress
